Kiki Shines at Her First TICA Show Weekend

What an incredible weekend for LUNABEARS Akela or TeddyGems, affectionately known as Kiki, as she attended her very first TICA cat show.

Entering a show weekend is always exciting, but there is something especially memorable about watching a young cat step into the show hall for the first time. Kiki took everything in her stride, settling well into her show environment and charming judges throughout the weekend with her sweet temperament and confident nature.

Across the two-day event, Kiki achieved some fantastic results:

• 10 × First in Division
• 10 × First of Colour
• 9 × Best of Breed
• 4 Finals

On Day One, Kiki was awarded:

• 5 × First in Division
• 5 × First of Colour
• 4 × Best of Breed
• 10th Best Kitten Overall in Judge Jane Allen's final
• 6th Best All Breed Kitten in Judge Maria Bunina's final

She continued her success on Day Two, adding further Best of Breed wins and additional finals to complete a very successful first show weekend.

While rosettes and placements are always wonderful to receive, the most important achievement was seeing Kiki remain calm, confident and happy throughout the event. Good temperament is one of the qualities we value most at TeddyGems, and Kiki represented our cattery beautifully.

Showing cats allows breeders to receive valuable feedback from experienced judges and helps us assess how closely our cats meet the British Shorthair breed standard. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow exhibitors, learn from others within the breed community and celebrate our shared passion for pedigree cats.

We are incredibly proud of everything Kiki achieved over the weekend and grateful to the judges for recognising her qualities. As a young cat, she has a bright future ahead of her, and we are excited to see how she develops in the months and years to come.

A huge thank you also goes to the organisers, judges and exhibitors who helped make the weekend such an enjoyable experience.

After a successful weekend in the show hall, Kiki is now back at home enjoying some well-earned rest, treats and cuddles before her next adventure.

We look forward to sharing more updates from Kiki's show career here in the TeddyGems Journal.
